Bali Yoga Retreat with Being Yoga

Bali yoga retreat with being yoga.

Well I haven’t blogged in so long! Life gets in the way and then time fly’s!

The last six months have been a whirlwind of changing directions in my life, getting in touch with my spirit and learning.

It started with a month in India in January getting my yoga 200 hours teaching certificate to coming home and doing my level two 500 hours locally with my favourite school..Learning new and better ways to enhance my practise and teaching skills.

I hardly take photographs anymore and at the moment it feels right to me…I lost the joy and it became stressful, I felt I was losing myself in a narcissistic world. Running away was the best thing I could do, for myself and my family..I learnt some valuable life long skills which I now incorporate into my daily routine and I feel a new sense of calmness within.

Life is different and so much better, My life now is not about trying to be the best, its about being humble. I’m working in an aged care facility in the high care ward with dementia patients..There is nothing like bringing you down to earth and bringing about a humble heart then to look after these beautiful people everyday to make their lives more comfortable until the day when they pass on from this world.

I also had the amazing chance of going with my best buddy over to Ubud, Bali for a belated 40th birthday present to each other. We hadn’t done something like this since the Ansett days over 15 years ago.

We went with an organised group from my local yoga school (Being Yoga) and had 7 days of yoga, meditation, drinking cashew nut frosty milkshakes and enjoying the locals…I only took a few photos whilst there so here they are to share:)

Next year the retreat will be held in Thailand…Who’s in??

Dee waking ahead to our yoga studio in the middle of rice fields.

Walking meditation on a beautiful balmy evening.

Dee’s first head stand..Woot!
Newly married love birds doing yoga together..Awww!
Dee chilling out on the balcony of our room.
Water temple where water emerges from the earth.
Cleansing of our sins.
Soo cold!
This is me cleansing my sins:)
Drowned rat!

Hi Family! Just before we hopped on bikes and rode down from the volcano’s through the local villages.

The view from the top, surrounded by volcano’s.
Looking the goods!
A local villagers kitchen ( and I complain about mine…Hmmm!)
Dee working hard cutting the rice.
Hehe! Slamming the rice against a sieve to break it off the stem.
A 500 year bunya tree.

A summers breeze feeds my soul while the sweet music of singing birds dance across the air.

The beauty and joy of summer revives my spirit, days of playing, warmth and child like wonder.
My heart could not be anymore full!

Spring by Erin – Sunshine Coast Fine Art Photographer

Sunshine Coast Fine Art Photographer, Robecca McLean creates beautiful art pieces full of love and emotion, using everyday women and showing how extraordinary they can be.

It’s only the beginning now
…a pathway yet unknown
At times the sound of other steps
…sometimes we walk aloneThe best beginnings of our lives
May sometimes end in sorrow
But even on our darkest days
The sun will shine tomorrow.

So we must do our very best
Whatever life may bring
And look beyond the winter chill
To smell the breath of spring.

Into each life will always come
A time to start anew
A new beginning for each heart
As fresh as morning dew.

Although the cares of life are great
And hands are bowed so low
The storms of life will leave behind
The wonder of a rainbow.

The years will never take away
Our chance to start anew
It’s only the beginning now
So dreams can still come true.
